Something different

I saw this on another blog and thought it would be something interesting and different to do. Here are the rules:

1. I choose the 4th folder where I store my pictures on the computer.
2. Select the 4th picture in the folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 people to do the same.
5. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)

This photo is one of my favorites and I can't believe it happened to be in the 4th folder and be the 4th photo!!! I took this on a random summer afternoon on the lake. Jackson loves riding on the boat!!!

Instead of tagging four, I'm tagging everyone in my small blogging circle. Yes that means you!!!

Ooops!

This weekend on the spur of the moment, we did our first registry. I must admit, it was quite fun scanning things that we may receive as gifts to help us start our life together!

I've always had a fascination with scanning things, so it was especially fun for me! As a kid, I can't tell you how many times I begged my mom to play store with me. I had a tiny cash register, monopoly money, and play checks and I'd play for hours. I would of been super delighted with the versions kids have now. Anyway, Justin saw the delight in my eyes and let me do the scanning :-)

One little mishap occurred a midst the scanning bliss... Justin broke something. And not just anything, a Waterford white wine goblet. It shattered into a million pieces and made quite a loud noise as it hit the ground.

The ironic thing is the darn thing had a shatterproof sticker on it. Justin says he was just testing the claim. He was tapping the glass to the palm of his hand. The sales people rushed over and cleaned us up and refused to let us pay for it. I'm ashamed to say I walked away and busied myself looking at the towels...

Ooops! Oh and we didn't register for those ;-)

Not much to report...

on this front.

This week went a little faster than last being a short week, but I'm afraid this semester is going to drag on and on! I'm struggling to get back in the groove.

My friend went to the inaugural address in D.C. this week, and he filled me in on the adventure. I'm glad it was him there and not me. It was way to cold and crowded in my opinion, but he's very political and he witnessed pure American history. I was in class during the swearing in, but the prof put up CNN's live feed on the big screen and we watched it, which I thought was nice. Although I didn't vote for Obama, I'm going to do my best to support him, as he is now our president. I'm also going to pray like mad.

Brief wedding update: My dress came in!!! It wasn't supposed to come in until mid April! I was a bit worried that I wouldn't like it in white as much because the one I tried on was ivory, but I loved it! We brought it home because I'm not ready to get fitted quite yet because I haven't decided on shoes. My dad also got fitted for his tux and he looked super handsome! We've selected our photographer and baker, they both are definitely in the right line of work, so creative and talented! We're pretty excited about the cake. It's six layers, each a different flavor! We also got final quotes from the caterers and plan to make that decision this weekend.

No plans, well maybe I should say no exciting plans, for the weekend other than catching up on some reading. Justin is playing in a softball tournament in the morning, and then we are going to Anderson with my parents tomorrow night. Justin and my dad both need to go, so that will be a nice break from reading physiology and psychology and statistics and medical mycology and microbiology...

Hope you have a fab weekend!!!

I've decided...

to go with my blog. If you're interested in me adding your name to the approved viewers list you can send me an email with your email address at blissk@uga.edu, send me a message on myspace, leave it in or comment, or whatever is easiest for you in the next couple of days!

In other news, today is my grandfather's birthday. I remember celebrating his birthday last year knowing that it would be his last. Send up a little prayer for my family today, especially my mom and grandmother. I know that he's having the best birthday ever, but man how we miss him.

Today is also Justin's nephew's 1st birthday! I'll never forget his since he shares it with Papa.

This is him a year ago today.

And this is at Christmas. Man how they change in a year!

There's not much else to report. Off to church, family time, and cake tasting!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Looking forward...

to this long weekend! We have some fun things in store!

Saturday morning we're meeting with a final caterer and then we're making a decision and crossing that off the list.

Saturday afternoon we're heading to Greenville, SC to meet with a photographer! Photography is very important to us, so I'm really excited about that.

Afterwards, we're going to step back from wedding planning and go on a date. J, gave us a gift card to TGI Fridays for Christmas (love, love that place!!!) and we're going to eat there and then find something date-sy to do. :-)

Sunday, after church and the weekly lunch with Justin's family, we're going to a cake tasting. I can't wait!!!

Monday, I'm going to do school work and catch up from a weekend of non school work. It'll be nice to be home an extra day!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

With a new year comes...

a new workout routine. I'm extra motivated to stick with it this year in order to be in shape by the time I wed.

I bought a Kettlebell last night and plan to start a Kettlebell routine. Have any of you ever worked out with one?

They look like this:

According to my Women's Health, it's one of the best ways for a woman to tone muscles which is what I'd like to accomplish. I liked this one because it came with a workout DVD to teach me appropriate exercises.

I'll keep you updated on how I like it and how sore I'm sure it will make me...

Well, not much else to report. I'm trying to rest before school gets in full swing and I forget what that word means!

Believe it or not...

I am making progress with the wedding planning!!!

(I want a photo like this made of us!)

First things first, we've set a date: August 22, 2009. So mark your calendars, all family and friends are invited to attend.

I've been working on a wedding website which should be finished soon.

Justin and I are meeting with a caterer on Sunday and I met with a florist this morning.

My bridesmaid dresses are picked out and we're looking at tuxes on Saturday.

I'd also like to squeeze in a meeting with another caterer and a DJ during the weekend.

And then there's the cake, photography, videography...

Definitely keeping me busy, that's for sure!

I can't believe I start back to school on Thursday. This semester promises to be a busy one with 16 hours of classes and a wedding to plan!

Well back to the grind. Have a great week!
