Bachlorette Weekend!!!

My amazing maid of honor and bridesmaids hosted a super fun Bachlorette weekend for me!

I had no clue of what we were doing! We had originally discussed Greenville but as we drove right past, I pondered what we were actually doing.

(Check out Walter...)

They let me unwrap a present which had a ticket in it. We were heading to CHARLOTTE to see RASCAL FLATTS and DARIUS RUCKER!!!!!!!

When we got to Charlotte, we checked into our hotel and got ready. Then we went to eat at Rock Bottom Brewery in "uptown" Charlotte. It was so good! Just look at that cake. Seriously, the best ever!!!!

Yes, I wore this throughout the whole meal... along with a lovely Miss Bachlorette sash (which we actually had to explain to someone what that meant...).

Then we went back to the hotel and called a cab which was a great move. We avoided having to drive in horrendous traffic!

The concert was AWESOME!!!! We had a minor mishap with some idiot drunk teenagers who kept falling all over us. We put it in the hands of security and the drunk ones were either asked to leave, took off, or sobered up quickly. Of course some redneck woman had to march up to us and ask if we were the ones who turned them in, we thought we were going to be thanked, WRONG, she told us she hoped it happened to us someday, ppppppffffffffft. Some other people around us did give some thanks though.

Meet Tilley and lover:

He kept us laughing. His dance moves were rocking, lol. Too bad they didn't stick around for the whole concert.

The concert was so good! Darrius did a lot of Hootie which we loved!!!! And Rascal Flatts was great!!!!

After the concert, we hit up Burger King. We thought we could walk right over because it was right next to the hotel, but only the drove through was open. We sat in the drive through for about 40 minutes lol, but my fries sure were good.

The next morning we headed home. It was a great weekend and I'm so grateful to my sweet friends. It's a weekend I'll always remember!

This and That

I've been spending a lot of time on the lake. These fellas visit us sometimes, and the little one is just too cute!

In the past two weeks I have read the best three books I have read in a long time. If you're looking for a good book or two, I recommend...

Diane Chamberlain is awesome! Her books pull you in right away and you can't put them down, a lot like Nicholas Sparks books always seem to do. I knew I loved Billie Letts because Shoot the Moon is one of my favorite books and this one was just as great. Good, good books! Even my mama who isn't a big reader is tearing into the Secret Life of CeeCee Wilks!

I had my bridals on Friday. Loads of fun, but surprisingly tiring!

Bridesmaid Dresses

I don't have a whole lot to share. We wed in 40 days so we're a little cuckoo by this point, lol.

Thought I'd share a photo of the bridesmaid dresses. I don't think I've done that yet...

They'll be solid celadon without the ivory band. I've loved them from the minute I saw them. I hope my girlies love them, I think most of them do from what I can tell!

Off to pre-marital counseling! This will be our third session. It's quite a hoot!

Pre-Fourth

The wedding planning is in whirlwind phase. Seems like we're always doing something related to it. I don't think you ever know how much goes into planning a wedding until you have your own. You can imagine, but it's not quite the same. Justin drew out everything on sketch up- the church, reception area, ect. and it's so neat to be able to visualize! Our current projects are programs, parent gifts, music selection for the DJ, and the slideshow (which is a hair pulling task). Needless to say, I'm learning a lot.

This planning is making posting more far and few between. I've had two showers since my last shower post. No time for that today, but here are a few pre-4th photos!

Hope you all have a great 4th!

Savannah

We had a great time in Savannah. It was sooooo nice to not think about what I should be studying!

Friday night Justin and I went out to eat at a little restaurant on the river and then walked down River St. We had a lot of fun just taking our time and enjoying the atmosphere.

Friday morning we went and stood in line to get a reservation at Paula Dean's restaurant, Lady & Son's for later that night. (That's the only way to get reservations for parties of less than 10)

Then we had breakfast at Clary's. The building was actually built in 1903 as a pharmacy and later it was converted to a restaurant. It's famous as the author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil gained the plot from the book while eavesdropping in the restaurant. Later when the movie was filmed in Savannah, all of the stars ate there. I had the BEST french toast and chocolate chip pancakes I've ever had.

Then the guys played 9 holes of golf. I rode along and snapped a few photos and read my book. (I was glued to that book all weeekend. It's the best I've read in a long time. The Secret Life Of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain- AWESOME!)

That afternoon we headed to Tybee Island for a bit. I wasn't a fan of the beach. Flys were biting and it was so crowded. I can't get in a ocean if it's not clear, I just get all paranoid lol, so I just read my book.

We ate at Lady & Son's that night. So good and a great experience. I had shrimp but Justin got the buffet. He was so full when we left. And those are some of the best yams I've ever had!!!!

Oh and Justin got a kick out of this in Paula's store.

The next morning, we all ate at Clary's again and then Justin and I did a trolley tour because Justin had never been to Savannah.

Then we headed home and had supper with daddy for Father's Day!

It was a nice weekend! Hope you had a great one too!

Wowzer

I took the MCAT today. It was hard. It was long. I feel like I accomplished something just by getting through it.

We're going to Savannah this weekend! Wahoo for mini getaway weekends!

I'll try to catch up soon!

Showers 3 and 4 and some in between!

Sorry that my blog is consumed with showers at the moment. With work and MCAT studying, my posting time is so slim that I just try to hit the high points.

On May 16th, Justin's aunts hosted a shower at their church. It was a lot of fun! Here a few photos!

Mother and grandmother of the groom and me!

Bridesmaid shot (missing Jamie)

Wonderful hostesses, me, and the mamas

On May 23rd, we did the Save Our Skin Walk/Run in memory of my Papa. We had the best time! Justin and his friend Justin ran and the rest of us walked. And my grandmother won 3rd in her age group! She was so proud! They had dermatologists on site and we all got checked out. Everyone got a thumbs up except me but what else is new. Overall we had a great time and we helped raise money for a great cause! We hope to make it a yearly event!

MaMa crossing the finish line!

MaMa and her award

This past Saturday we had a shower at Mt. Olivet. It was given by a lot of my mom's high school friends and my grandmother's church friends. There was a great turnout, yummy food, and really nice gifts!

Awesome hostess gift! This is a place setting of our everyday china.

Yummy food! They even used my favorite flowers as the centerpiece.

Mama and Tammy :-)

Chowing down on left over watermelon after everyone else left.

Wonderful Hostesses

Sorry for the photo overload!!! No showers this weekend, but Justin is in a wedding so I'm sure there will be more photos to come!
